Sage Community Planning was founded by Brandy MacInnis, RPP, MCIP, a Registered Professional Planner. Brandy collaborates with communities, developers, and partner firms to navigate growth with clarity, care, and insight to deliver practical solutions that reflect community values and achieve client goals.

Founder, Sage Community Planning
Brandy MacInnis, RPP, MCIP
Brandy has over 25 years of experience as a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) in Alberta, in both the public and private sectors. Brandy is also a trained member of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). Brandy founded Sage Community Planning to work with municipalities and developers to navigate growth with clarity, care, and practical insight.
From the outset, Brandy partners with clients to understand their values, needs, and desired outcomes, creating adaptable, implementable plans, policies, and developments that balance client and community priorities. When engagement is required, Brandy facilitates meaningful and transparent opportunities for interested parties and community members to contribute.
Brandy has spent the majority of her career working with small and rural communities. She is passionate about supporting municipalities and developers by leading land development projects, improving processes, developing effective policies and plans, and implementing communications and engagement strategies that drive results.
Brandy’s combined public and private sector municipal experience, along with expertise in business analysis and interested party engagement, provides a perspective few others can offer. This unique combination enables Brandy to identify efficiencies, build consensus, and deliver practical, innovative solutions for her clients.
Beyond Planning
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Brandy makes the foothills and mountains her playground. In her spare time, Brandy enjoys gardening, hiking and camping with family, and spending time near water. Brandy is also a proud and active member of her community, serving as planning director and co-chair of the community park redevelopment committee.
